What’s it like to build with Artisan?

It’s important to us that our clients know exactly what to expect from us, every step of the way.
Here’s a quick overview of how a typical building process usually works.

Step 1

Meet with us.

Tell us who you are, how you live, what you’re looking for in a home and what you need from your builder. While we’re learning all about you, you’ll be getting to know us, too. We’ll review your inspiration pictures, discuss home styles, discuss finishes, establish your overall budget and talk about your ideal location.

Step 2

Select your site (if you haven’t already).

If you’re building in one of the developments we’re associated with, we’ll help you pick the right spot in the neighborhood. If you need help finding a secluded country lot for your dream home, we can help with that, too.

Step 3

Develop a Concept and Preliminary Floorplans

This is the fun part. You’ll spend a couple of meetings working one-on-one with James and our professional design partners on a custom floor plan that fits you best, and start talking about the special details that make it yours.

Step 4

Review and accept pricing and allowances

Based on the final design, we’ll give you a final quote that’s as close to your budget as possible. If it’s not, we’ll work together to make whatever design changes are necessary to hit the number you set and stay there.

Step 5

Enter Contract

Once you sign our purchase agreement, we’ll help you walk through the financing process, from your pre-approval letter to deposit to securing financing.

Step 6

Choose fixtures and special details.

Express your personal style with tile, faucets, cabinet pulls, light fixtures, flooring, paint colors and so much more. Our designer will be there to help you every step of the way.

Step 7

Pre-Construction Meeting.

We’ll review one more time together to finalize your floor plan and make sure everything is exactly how you want it to be. When we both sign off on the floor plan and the selections you’ve made, Artisan will gather materials, obtain all necessary permits, and get our crew prepped for you.

Step 8

Construction begins.

We’ll start building your home. Expect clear communication along the way and scheduled walk-throughs at certain construction milestones to make sure everything is going according to plan.

Step 9

Home Orientation.

When your home is finished, we’ll do a final walkthrough that serves two purposes. First, we’ll show you everything you need to know to care for and operate your new home, from which light switch does what to how the garage door openers work. This our chance to show you the quality of our work down to the tiniest detail, and your chance to flag anything that needs attention.

Step 10

Move-In Day!

It’s finally here! Your new home will be clean, fresh and ready for you to start making memories. We’ll get together one more time after you move in to make sure you’re happy with your new home. And for the next eleven months, we’ll be on standby to touch up any loose ends or issues you find.
